Welcome to

Brownies are part of the Girl Guide
Association they come after Rainbows and before Guides.
Brownies are usually aged between seven and ten,
Any girl over the age of seven can
become a Brownie Guide
Brownies belong to a Pack and work in small groups
called Sixes. This gives each girl a group of ready-made friends to take
care of her. It also makes her feel that she belongs to something special.
One Brownie is chosen to be the leader of her six; she is called a sixer and
another Brownie is her assistant (called a seconder).
Brownies have fun! They take part in indoor and outdoor
activities that challenge them to do their best! Their meetings are
action-packed and full of challenges, games and activities.. Everything a
Brownie does is an adventure - it's a world of excitement, new interests and
friends.
Brownie Packs meet regularly, usually once a week
during school terms. There are often other opportunities for Brownies to
take part in special activities and events throughout the year. Many Brownie
Packs go away on holiday, to camp or an overnight sleepover.
Brownies also work towards badges - sometimes as a
Pack, a six or individually. There are badges to cover nearly every interest
and activity and Brownies have a handbook which lists all the badges and
what they entail. These can also be found on the Girl Guiding Website.
The Brownie Guide Law
A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a Good Turn
every day.
Brownies groups in the district
We have 3 Brownie Units in our District these are Hollingbourne,
Harrietsham and Lenham
This is what Brownies is all
about
Brownies is excellent because it is a great Thursday evening activity.
If brownies wasn’t here I would be sitting at home watching TV so it gets
children 7-10 into fun, games and activities. Also if you only have friends
in your school and you don’t know anyone you’ll always have a ‘brownie
buddy’ here. All the brownie leaders/helpers are friendly and help you
whenever you need it.
